About me and my practice

I'm a qualified, experienced psychodynamic counsellor and EMDR practitioner working with adults, primarily online. I work with people facing emotional difficulties, like sadness, anxiety, depression, loneliness, fear and with people who have experienced difficult and / or abusive relationships.

I offer weekly sessions where we will work at your pace.

Experience

I have a private practice working primarily online using video and telephone calls and I work with people across the UK. I have a confidential space available in the Scottish Highlands for those who wish to work in person.

Using a combination of psychodynamic and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help take the heat out of painful memories, I aim to create a safe and compassionate space for us to work together collaboratively.

I have background in learning and development and work as a counselling tutor, teaching people who are interested in becoming a psychodynamic therapist.

I believe in making therapy widely accessible and affordable to those who are on benefits, or a low income. In the past, Ive worked with FTSE 250 companies as a coach, with local community colleges supporting Drugs and Alcohol Services, with Youth Offending Teams as a mentor and I worked with Gloucestershire Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre (GRASAC). I have offered counselling in both charities and private settings, working with adults to help them to overcome the emotional challenges of life.

Initial Consultation

When you contact me, we will arrange a mutually convenient time to meet for an initial consultation. This will last 50 minutes. During this first meeting we will explore why you are coming for counselling and what you hope to gain from it. It will also give us an opportunity to find out whether we would like to work together.

You are under no obligation to continue with counselling. What matters is whether you think we can work together initially. Its ok for you to ask questions and to evaluate whether this is the right match for you.

Fees

The cost of counselling is £55 per session. I have a limited amount of reduced fee sessions available and we can speak about this when you contact me.
